My London life began eight years ago when I moved to the big city as a property guardian. Over the next few years I would go on to live in a variety of strange abodes including a Victorian mental asylum and an old people’s home (rather boringly, I now live in a normal flat).
I landed my first job at a little boutique PR agency called Golden Goose PR. Highlights included taking Jedward’s inner thigh measurements for a UK wide tour with Woolworths (yes, they still existed then) and dropping twenty hat boxes down the prestigious escalators at The Telegraph. PR was a great stepping stone for me but I missed my words so I moved to The Brooklyn Brothers as a Creative Content Writer. I travelled to Iceland (the country, not the supermarket) writing blogs for the Icelandic Tourist board. I also wrote website copy and devised online campaigns for Tate and Land Rover.
After a couple of years I was craving a new challenge and took up a role as Social Director at adam&eve DDB. I was thrown onto John Lewis Christmas immediately and for the next four and a half years at the agency I celebrated the festive season very, very early. But it wasn’t all about Christmas. My first loves are fashion and beauty and launching John Lewis as a destination for both was so much fun.
It soon became clear it was the creative aspect of my job that I loved the most which was when I became one of the agency’s first digitally-focused creatives. I went on to work across Fosters, Max Factor, Save The Children, H&M, Mars, Waitrose….from shoes and mascara to cats and beer, I got pretty good experience across the board.
I always have a writing project of my own on the go including my current wellness blog where I cover everything from mental health to meditation. When I’m not writing, I’m out with my miniature dachshund Ruby who is the cutest little sausage-shaped creature you’ve ever seen.
I’m pretty flexible. I’m a multi-disciplined creative specialising in digital. So I can write your headlines, pen long form content, craft blog posts and produce website copy. I can script and direct talent if it’s film content you’re after. I can art direct stills shoots. I love developing tone of voice and can work with you on branding if you’re a fledgling or start up. If you’re not sure, just ask.
It’s also worth saying, I’m a nice person. I’m friendly and organised (eight years of agency life does that to you) and I put my heart and soul into everything I do.
Want to work together? That sounds lovely.
